"My husband and I moved from New York City to Charleston during COVID and we were not sure if our stay would be temporary or permanent. By chance, we encountered Kaylan and while we told her upfront we weren’t looking to buy a home, she seamlessly and naturally pivoted to the role of friend. She radiated sunshine and kindness and became someone we genuinely wanted in our lives. Over the next few years, she provided restaurant and salon recommendations and even helped us find a new rental. She never brought up home buying but 3 years later we finally found a home we were interested in. We reached out and within seconds she had arranged a viewing and was ready to meet us on a Friday evening. It wasn’t the home for us but then a few days later she messaged us and told us she thought she had found the one. Our requirements were very specific and our location range was very small, but somehow she found the gem we had been looking for all along. We had never purchased a home and didn’t know where to start. Kaylan walked us through every small detail of the process (and there are so many we wouldn’t have even thought to consider) and used her experience and extreme expertise to guide us. In this market, we don’t have the luxury of thinking through the decision, let alone sleeping on it overnight. Our timeline was as follows: 2 pm Saturday - Meet Kaylan at Open House 2:45 pm Saturday - Kaylan receives a call from the selling agent letting her know if we want to make an offer, we have 1 hour to do so 3 pm Saturday- sit down with Kaylan at Starbucks to discuss an offer (Kaylan has her laptop open, contract already prepared and waiting (you know, just in case) and she’s walking us through our options and answered all of our what ifs without consulting notes once. 3:45 pm Saturday - offer made with an escalation clause which is something my husband and I had never heard of before. 8 pm Saturday - Kaylan calls and tells us we have a house! We couldn’t believe that in less than 5 hours we had made the biggest decision of our lives and yet we felt completely calm with no regrets. Kaylan was so prepared and answered all of our rapid-fire questions with ease and confidence. I thought this was where our relationship would end, but no, Kaylan showed up to every inspection, surveyor, and crawl space appointment and stayed the entire time. My husband and I work full time and we couldn’t always be there and Kaylan did this without us even asking! Did I mention she is also a mother of 2 and newly married? Yet somehow she returns text messages in seconds, she meets you at whatever time you suggest, and is generally always available. We’re also doing a large renovation and she used her vast network to put us in touch with: Contractors Architects Interior Designers Surveyors She met us on closing day at the lawyer's office to sign all of our documents, give us our keys and a welcome home gift basket filled with personalized items that only further accentuated her attention to detail. My husband and I both work in careers that constantly demand a sense of urgency with very little room for mistakes. We expect the same from those we work with. I would hire Kaylan for any role as she is the definition of Type A. She gets things done all while maintaining an air of ease, grace, and competence. Kaylan doesn’t sell homes, she’s a full-service provider, consultant, and friend. She still reaches out to say hi and I know she is someone who will always be in our lives. Kaylan doesn’t close deals, she opens her heart and builds relationships. She’s not transacted-oriented, she’s people-oriented. From the first second Kaylan opened the door to the house, her light started turning into the beginning of a home."
